TRADING RULES

Every rule.
In plain English.

These rules apply to every FundedPilot evaluation and funded account. Read them before you start: by purchasing a challenge you agree to them in full.

Last updated October 15, 2026

Simulated trading

All FundedPilot accounts are simulated.

Every evaluation and every “funded” account is a demo account trading in a simulated environment with simulated funds. No orders are routed to a real exchange or market, and you never trade or own real capital. FundedPilot is not a broker, does not accept deposits and does not provide investment advice.

Payouts are performance-based rewards paid by FundedPilot according to these rules. They are not returns from real trading. Past simulated performance does not indicate future results. Trading involves substantial risk.

Tradable instruments

Only the instruments below may be traded. Trades in any other symbol are a violation: their profits are removed and repeated trades fail the account.

All instruments are futures contracts. Each product can be traded as its standard contract (for example NQ) or as its micro contract (for example MNQ). One standard contract counts as 10 micro contracts. Futures are traded in whole contracts only.

Evaluation objectives

Profit target

Reach the profit target in closed profit. Your balance, not your equity, must be at or above starting balance plus the target. Floating profit from open positions does not count.

Minimum trading days

Trade on at least the required number of trading days before you can pass. A trading day counts when at least one position is opened during that trading day (see trading hours).

Time limit (30 days)

Your evaluation fee is a one-time payment for 30 days of trading, starting when your account is activated. If you have not reached the profit target and the minimum trading days by the end of day 30, the evaluation ends and the account is marked as failed. There are no extensions; you can start a new challenge at any time. Your dashboard shows the days you have left.

Activation fee ($169)

After passing, your performance account is activated with a one-time activation fee of $169, the same for every account size. You pay it from your account page in the dashboard. It must be paid within 7 days after passing; otherwise the passed evaluation is closed automatically and marked as failed, without a performance account.

Passing

You pass once the profit target, the minimum trading days and the consistency rule are all met with no open positions and no rule violations. Every passed account is reviewed before it is marked as funded.

Loss limits

Maximum drawdown (trailing)

The maximum drawdown limit trails your highest equity, including unrealized profit from open positions. Your equity may never fall to or below your highest equity minus the maximum drawdown. The limit moves up with every new high and never moves down. Once it reaches your starting balance, it locks at the starting balance and stays there.

Example ($50K account)

You start at $50,000; the limit is $48,000. Your equity rises to $51,000, so the limit trails up to $49,000. Once your equity has reached $52,000, the limit locks at $50,000: from then on the account fails if equity falls to $50,000 or below.

Daily loss limit (intraday trailing)

The daily loss limit trails your highest equity of the trading day, including unrealized profit from open positions. Whenever your equity reaches a new high during the day, the limit moves up with it; it never moves down. If your equity falls by the daily loss limit or more from that high, the account fails. This applies to every account size: $500 on the $25K, $1,000 on the $50K, $2,000 on the $100K.

Example ($50K account)

You start the day at $50,000. An open trade brings your equity to $51,200, so the limit trails up to $50,200. The trade turns and your equity drops to $50,200: the account fails, even though it is still $200 above where the day started. Profit you did not lock in still counts toward the high.

Reset

The high resets at the start of each trading day (01:00 Berlin time) to your balance at that moment.

Hard breach

Breaching the maximum drawdown or the intraday trailing daily loss limit fails the account immediately and permanently, even if the position recovers afterwards. Open positions are closed, the account is disabled and it is no longer eligible for any payout.

Trading hours & time zone

All times in these rules refer to Central European Time, Europe/Berlin: CET (UTC+1) in winter and CEST (UTC+2) during daylight saving time.

PeriodBerlin timeUTC (winter / summer)
Trading day01:00 – 22:0000:00 – 21:00 / 23:00 – 20:00

Weekend closeFriday 21:0020:00 / 19:00
Weekend reopenMonday 01:0000:00 / 23:00 (Sunday)

Daily blackout

No position may be opened, held or closed between 22:00 and 01:00 Berlin time. All positions must be flat before 22:00.

Holidays and early closes

On exchange holidays and shortened sessions, positions must be closed at least 15 minutes before the exchange closes for the day.

Overnight & weekend

No overnight positions

Because of the daily blackout, positions may not be held overnight. Any position still open at 22:00 is a violation and may be closed automatically.

No weekend positions

All positions must be closed by Friday 21:00 Berlin time. Trading is not allowed again until the Asian session opens on Monday at 01:00 Berlin time. Opening trades to exploit weekend or session gaps is prohibited.

Position limits

Limits depend on your account size and apply to your total open position per instrument at any moment, including pending orders that could fill at the same time. Standard and micro contracts of the same product count together: 1 standard contract equals 10 micro contracts.

Instrument$25K$50K$100K
Nasdaq 100 (NQ / MNQ)1 NQ or 10 MNQ2 NQ or 20 MNQ4 NQ or 40 MNQ

Gold (GC / MGC)1 GC or 10 MGC2 GC or 20 MGC4 GC or 40 MGC

One instrument at a time

You may only have positions open in one instrument at a time. Holding NQ and ES together, or MNQ and gold together, is not allowed, even if each position is below its size limit. The standard and micro contract of the same product (for example NQ and MNQ) count as one instrument. Close everything in one instrument before you open a position in another. Pending orders in a second instrument count as well.

Scaling within one instrument

Inside that one instrument you may open as many positions as you like, at different entries, as long as their combined size stays within the limit. Example on the $25K account: 4 + 3 + 3 MNQ equal 10 micro contracts, the maximum. On the $50K account the same applies up to 2 NQ or 20 MNQ, or a mix such as 1 NQ + 10 MNQ. All positions must point in the same direction (see hedging).

Breaches

Exceeding a size limit or holding a second instrument, even briefly, is a violation. Profits from the affected positions are removed, and repeated breaches fail the account.

Why these sizes

Limits are set so that a normal intraday move against you at full size uses up a large part of your daily loss limit. That rewards consistent risk management instead of a few oversized trades. Because only one instrument can be open at a time, these limits are also your maximum total exposure.

News trading

What counts as a news event

Every event marked as high impact (red) in the ForexFactory economic calendar, as listed before the event. This includes for example CPI, Non-Farm Payrolls, unemployment rate and change, interest rate decisions, GDP, retail sales and speeches by central bank governors or heads of state when they are marked red. Unscheduled events that were not in the calendar beforehand do not count.

News window: 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after

A position is a news trade if it was open at any time from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after a high-impact USD event, whether it was opened, held or closed in that window. All tradable instruments are US futures quoted in USD, so every high-impact USD event applies to all of them.

Consequence

News trading does not fail your account. However, profits from news trades do not count: in an evaluation they do not count toward the profit target, and on a performance account they are not eligible for payouts. Losses from news trades still count. All accounts are reviewed for news trades before they are marked as passed and before every payout.

Risk management

Stop-loss on every position

Every position must have a stop-loss set when it is opened. Positions opened without a stop-loss do not count as valid trades.

Maximum risk per trade: 1%

The possible loss of a position, from entry to stop-loss, may be at most 1% of the starting balance: $250 on the $25K account, $500 on the $50K account. For several positions in the same instrument, the risk of all of them is added up.

Position size consistency

No position may be larger than 2 times your average position size on the account (measured in contracts per instrument, with a micro contract counting as 1/10 of a standard contract). This prevents collecting trading days with small trades and then passing with a single oversized trade.

Consequence

These rules do not fail your account. Positions that break them do not count as valid trades: their profits do not count toward the profit target in an evaluation and are not eligible for payouts on a performance account. Losses still count. Accounts are reviewed before they are marked as passed and before every payout.

Hedging

Hedging is not allowed

You may not hold long and short positions at the same time in the same or a correlated product. That includes the Nasdaq 100 against the S&P 500, and a standard contract against its own micro contract (for example NQ against MNQ).

Across accounts

This also applies across all accounts you control at FundedPilot or that are traded in coordination with other people. Opposite positions across accounts lead to the closure of all involved accounts and denial of any payouts.

Against other firms and brokers

You may not use a FundedPilot account to offset positions at another prop firm, broker or any other account (for example long here and short elsewhere). Trading only works as an evaluation of your own skill, not as one side of a hedge.

How we check

We automatically compare positions across all accounts, including timing and direction. Suspected hedging is reviewed manually before any decision.

Consistency rule

You cannot pass, or get paid, on one lucky day or one lucky trade.

Evaluation: best day ≤ 30%

Your most profitable trading day may make up at most 30% of your total profit when you reach the target. If it is more, the account stays active and you keep trading until the rule is met.

Single trade ≤ 30%

No single trade may account for more than 30% of your total profit in the evaluation or in a payout cycle.

Funded: best day ≤ 30%

For a payout, your best trading day in the payout cycle may be at most 30% of the cycle's total profit.

Activity requirement

Applies to every account

The activity requirement applies to evaluation accounts and also to performance (funded) accounts after the evaluation phase, for as long as the account is open.

Two qualifying days every 15 days

Within every rolling period of 15 calendar days, an account must record at least two qualifying trading days. A qualifying day is a trading day with at least $50 net closed profit.

Inactivity

Accounts that do not meet the activity requirement, or have no trade for 30 calendar days, are considered inactive and are closed without refund. This includes performance (funded) accounts: an inactive performance account is closed and is no longer eligible for payouts.

Prohibited practices

  • High-frequency trading and tick scalping: trades held for less than 15 seconds may not exceed 20% of your trades or of your profit.
  • Latency arbitrage, price-feed arbitrage and exploiting platform errors or delays.
  • Copy trading is prohibited: copying trades from or to other people, from signal services or trade copiers, and group or coordinated trading (for example following the same signals as other traders at the same time, in a group or channel). The only exception is described under Copying between your own accounts.
  • Letting anyone else trade your account, or trading someone else's account, including paid “account passing” or account management services.
  • Martingale and grid strategies that increase size after losses.
  • Opening a single position whose potential loss exceeds the remaining daily loss limit (all-or-nothing gambling).
  • Trading bots, Expert Advisors (EAs), copy trading tools or any automated trading.
  • Using a VPN or VPS to hide your location or to share devices between traders.

Any prohibited practice leads to the closure of all involved accounts without refund, and profits from it are not eligible for payouts. We review suspected cases manually and may ask you to explain your trades before we decide.

Eligibility & account limit

Private individuals only

By purchasing an evaluation you confirm that you are a private individual acting for yourself and not a professional trader. Professional traders include anyone who trades for or on behalf of a bank, broker, fund, proprietary trading company or asset manager, or who is licensed or registered as a financial professional. We may ask you to confirm this again at any time; false statements end all your accounts without refund or payout.

Restricted countries

Residents of the following countries may not take part, and nobody may trade from them: the United States of America, Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba and the Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine (Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk, Luhansk, and the occupied parts of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson). What counts is your place of residence, not your citizenship. If we find that you live in or trade from a restricted country, all your accounts are closed and no payouts are made.

No trading bots

Trading bots, Expert Advisors (EAs), copy trading tools, signal copiers and any other automated or semi-automated trading are not allowed. Every order must be placed manually by you.

Maximum 2 open accounts

You can have at most 2 open accounts at the same time, counting evaluations and performance accounts together (including accounts that are being set up). Passed or failed accounts do not count. Purchases above this limit are put on hold until one of your open accounts is closed.

Copying between your own accounts

If you hold two FundedPilot accounts, you may mirror your own trades between them only with the copy function built into the trading platform we provide, and only when we have enabled it. External trade copiers, copy software and any copying to or from other people's accounts are not allowed. Opposite positions between your accounts remain prohibited hedging.

One person, one identity

Each account must belong to one natural person who passes identity verification (KYC). Duplicate identities, shared devices or accounts opened for others are not allowed.

Payouts

Eligibility

  • First payout at the earliest 14 calendar days after your first funded trade.
  • Your balance has reached the minimum payout balance: $26,800 on the $25K, $53,000 on the $50K, $106,000 on the $100K account.
  • Payouts left on the account (see payout limits below) and no other open request.
  • At least 5 qualifying trading days (≥ $100 net profit each) in the payout cycle.
  • Passed identity verification (KYC).
  • No open positions when you submit the request.
  • The consistency rule for funded accounts is met.

Minimum holding time (2 minutes)

Positions must be held for at least 2 minutes to count toward payouts. Closing a position earlier is not a rule violation and does not fail your account, but profits from positions held shorter than 2 minutes are not eligible for payouts. Losses from such positions still count. Your dashboard shows the eligible amount before you request a payout.

Minimum payout balance

You can request a payout only when your balance is at or above the minimum payout balance: $26,800 on the $25K, $53,000 on the $50K, $106,000 on the $100K account. This applies to every payout, not only the first one.

Safety buffer and reward

The first $1,000 of profit on the $25K, $1,500 of profit on the $50K, $3,000 of profit on the $100K account are a safety buffer and are not paid out. Your performance reward is 80% of the eligible simulated profit above the buffer for the first payout and 90% for every further payout, up to the payout limits below. Profit that has already been rewarded counts as used.

Example ($50K account)

Your balance reaches $53,000, a profit of $3,000. After the $1,500 buffer, $1,500 is eligible; 80% of it is $1,200, so you can request the maximum of $750.

Payout limits

Each performance account allows a fixed number of payouts with a maximum amount each: $25K: 3 × up to $350 (max. $1,050 in total); $50K: 3 × up to $750 (max. $2,250 in total); $100K: 3 × up to $2,000 (max. $6,000 in total). Only one payout request can be open at a time. The minimum payout is $100. Rewards are paid by FundedPilot from its own funds; they are not a share of real trading profits.

Account completion

After the last allowed payout has been paid, the performance account is completed and closed. You can start a new challenge at any time; the account limit in Eligibility & account limit applies.

Review

Every request is reviewed against these rules for the full payout cycle. If a rule was broken during the cycle, the request is denied and profits from the violating trades are removed. Approved payouts are processed within 5 business days.

Violations & reviews

Hard breaches

Maximum drawdown and the intraday trailing daily loss limit. These fail the account immediately, void any pending payout and are detected automatically.

Time limit

An evaluation that has not passed after 30 days is ended automatically and marked as failed.

Soft breaches

Trading hours, overnight and weekend holding, position limits, news trading, hedging, consistency and activity. Depending on severity, profits from the affected trades are removed, a payout is denied, or the account is failed. Repeated soft breaches fail the account.

Transparency

Every violation is logged with time, rule and values, and is visible in your dashboard.

Fees & refunds

Evaluation fee

The evaluation fee is a one-time payment for a 30-day simulated evaluation. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. It is not a deposit and is not traded.

Refunds

Once the first trade has been placed, the fee is non-refundable, including if the account fails. Statutory withdrawal rights for consumers remain unaffected.

Changes to these rules

Updates

We may update these rules for new purchases. An account always keeps the rules that applied when it was purchased; changes to running accounts only apply if you agree to them.
Risk disclosure

FundedPilot provides simulated trading evaluations for educational and evaluation purposes only. All trading takes place on demo accounts with simulated funds. Nothing on this website is investment advice or an offer to buy or sell financial instruments.
